Artist Statement

Acrispec film is an art project which started in 2002 with the creation of Anatoustics. The sole purpose is to create a platform for Stinus Lysdal Savtisky Patel´s diversified realization of artistic ideas. The projects have originated in the video media as a research into the various possibilities of the medium’s limitations.

The presentations range from exhibitions to screenings, all depending on the project’s aim. Concepts like “Narrativity”, “Linguistics”, “Acoustics”, “Sociology”, “Territorial heritage”, “Non-fiction & Fiction”, “Fragmentation”, “Cultural Identity” and “Philosophy” are used to generate the universe around each artistic production.

Generating music and visual images comes from a long urge to create completeness as a language. Aiming at each art work being holistic in its own universe, while open to both misinterpretation & interpretation. In particular, the metaphor as an intriguing element that generates a plateau for humanism and irony which leads the perception away from intellectual sterility.

Hereby not aiming away from intelligent structural formalistic tools which are very useful in several parts of the process. The exercise of combining sterile structures against with organic patterns very naturally produces the questions of interest, giving each element its place in the project. Any project is a puzzle which starts in the back of the mind at the end of the previous project’s enlightenment. Solving this puzzle is the solitary challenge the artist must face, even though several individuals can be involved with the process.

Therefore, this artist must be an:

ArtMonk (in ART), a man who has redrawn the ordinary for artistic reasons, esp. associated with aesthetic principles of human activity, according to a particular rule and under vows of poverty, honesty, cunning, and obedience. The quality, production, expression, or realm, according to artistic principles, of what is beautiful/ugly, appealing, or of more than momentary significance. Creating the class of objects subject to aesthetic criteria in a field generated by the idea, without categorical limits of overspecialization. Fine-tuning any field using the skills or techniques of art in illustrating the principles or methods governing any craft of learning new philosophical ideas or methods. Any political artificiality in behavior creating injustice through archaic trickery for the execution of stupidity, investigated in the art of conversation.
